(Podcast episode) Of all of the insights and practical advice that I have heard in the past few years, the one that has made all of the difference is that “if we want to make lasting and significant change in our lives, we have to sometimes do things we don’t want to do.” If we only listen to our feelings, our whims, our mood, our problems…we’ll never be able to maintain consistency. We have to rise above our cravings and impulses and force ourselves to show up on the days, and in the places, we don’t want to. When we do this, and transcend our old habits, we can open up space for new things to come in and the rest will take care of itself. Just show up! Don’t wait until you feel like doing it.
