Counseling for Depression
Most people seek depression counseling because they experience significant depression at least once in their lives. Depression affects all people, genders, and ages. Depression can be experienced in suppressed emotions and emotional states such as constant irritation, self defeating thoughts, or anger towards one’s self. Some people experience depression as a lack of emotion or a lack of joy with things that once brought them joy. Significant life changes such as the birth of a child, loss of a loved one, loss of a job, trauma, or a life transition such as divorce can create symptoms of depression. You are not alone. You are not broken and you are not weak for experiencing anxiety. Anxiety is the mind’s way of keeping you safe. It’s just that the brain doesn’t know when to stop worrying or when the situation you are experiencing doesn’t warrant the amount of anxiety that you are feeling.
